Ulyana Sergeenko Fall/Winter 2011

It is a lazy afternoon so here I am on my mac, filtering through all my online media network, replying e-mails, replying tweets, stalking people on Facebook, contemplating on whether I should add my cousins on Facebook (I did not. Because my I want them to add me instead hehh) while periodically taking a sip of vanilla tea and spraying my room with vanilla mist because I can (and also because my parents are out visiting [bo jio] for Hari Raya).

So today I've decided to learn more about Russia because Russia has such a badass history like that. From the Soviet Union era to the humble beginnings of Kievan Rus' and a landmasss that stretches across idk how many time zones, Russia is really rich in terms of history, culture and folklore. Like the wacky Baba Yaga who lives in a house on (drumstick) stilts and the never-say-die (haha) Rasputin.

So anyway, while browsing the even larger frontier of the World Wide Web, I've discovered this really amazing designer/fashionista Ulyana Sergeenko. And this is her Fall/Winter collection, heavy with Eastern European elements. Florals, fur and belts above waist, and the juxtaposition of the various elements in each clothing at the same time able to portray the cold, refined air of the aristocrat, the merriness of the bourgeois and the plain innocence of the proletariat.
